Thu Thiem Pedestrian Bridge
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
(Contest) The Thu Thiem Pedestrian Bridge is a planned structure designed to connect Ho Chi Minh City’s historic District 1 with the emerging Thu Thiem New Urban Area, spanning the Saigon River. This bridge aims to enhance connectivity between the traditional city center and the newly developed urban zone. The bridge’s design draws inspiration from the nipa palm leaf, a symbol prevalent in Southern Vietnam’s riverine landscapes, reflecting the region’s cultural identity. Spanning over 500 meters, it is set to be one of the longest pedestrian bridges in Vietnam, serving both functional and aesthetic purposes.
